Event Description

Following the popular demand from last year’s ceremony, Sol del Amor is a celebration and community conversation with Carmen Vicente, followed by a South American “blossoming” ceremony and a choir of ceremonial singers guided by Chilean folksinger Natalia Contesse. Carmen Vicente is a medicine woman from the border of Ecuador and Peru. For nearly 50 years, she has advocated for the autonomy of traditional practices and teachings. She has worked principally with traditional peoples in the Amazon, and homeless and incarcerated communities in Quito. Please bring one red carnation to participate in the ceremony.
