Galería de la Raza is pleased to present MUNDO MAYA 12:12:12, A Celebration of the Mayan Culture. This exhibition is the culmination of a fifteen-month workshop series that will feature works by local Latino/Mayan youth and lead artist Roberto Y. Hernandez. The exhibit opens Thursday, December 6, 2012. Hernandez uses his knowledge of Mayan art and culture as a vehicle for social change, instilling in youth an appreciation for their cultural heritage while drawing awareness to issues regarding the environment, community, and spirituality.
