Event Description

The documentary El Pelotero (The Ballplayer) follows two sixteen year old Dominican baseball prospects who must overcome incredible competition and increasing corruption to try to achieve their dreams of signing a contact with an MLB team and lifting their families out of poverty. John Leguizamo narrates. The movie plays at The San Francisco Film Society, and has already gotten great reviews from the Los Angeles Times, the New York Times, the Huffington Post, and the AV Club.
