A Walk Along Cesar Chavez Street

Event Description

Galeria de la Raza is pleased to present A Walk Along Cesar Chavez Street, The Cesar Chavez East Community Design Plan as our first visual arts exhibit for 2012. This new exhibition, featuring mini scale models, video interviews, projections, photography, and blueprints, is the result of a service-learning course at the University of San Francisco conducted by artist Sergio De La Torre, entitled Artist As Citizen: Documentary Practices. Over two semesters, USF students collaborated with the San Francisco Planning Department to develop projects that help them understand social and political issues around the city.

Open house: February 22 @ 6:30pm
