Scott Pilgrim vs. Chile

Director Miguel Arteta, who worked with fresh-faced manboy Michael Cera on the film Youth in Revolt, recently revealed to The Playlist that Cera was studying Spanish five hours a day in preparation to spend time in Chile with Sebastian Silva, director of The Maid and this year’s Sundance-featured Old Cats. No details yet on the film itself, but with the recent announcement that a Spanish-speaking Will Ferrell would be starring alongside Gael Garcia Bernal and Diego Luna in a telenovela spoof called Casa de Mi Padre, this could be the beginning of a trend.

Aren’t there funny people that already speak Spanish?
