La Pelanga is an Oakland-based DJ collective who will be throwing a Haiti benefit party at everyone’s favorite clandestine location in The Mission, the SUB-Mission Gallery. The party will featureĀ a great line-up of DJs spinning raw cumbia, salsa dura, high-life, dancehall, hip-hop, soukous, Haitian kompa, reggaeton, afrobeat, merengue, makossa, and more. All proceeds will go to Partners in Health, an organization that has been providing health care to Haiti for over 20 years.
Featured DJs: Posoule, Papicultor, China Tu Madre, and Juancho 3000.
Special guests: Samba Queen Maisa Duke and Energia do Samba dancers, and hip-hop group BRWN BFLO, fresh from their sold-out Taco Truck Tour!
“La Pelanga has been an on-going East Oakland event for the last two years, and the party at Sub-Mission will mark its return to San Francisco for the first time since 2008. Deejays Posoule, Papicultor, China Tu Madre, and Juancho 3000.
